Rev. Dr. Chris Heckert is a pastor, author, and coach dedicated to the revitalization of the Wesleyan tradition. He currently serves as the Senior Pastor of Haddonfield United Methodist Church in New Jersey, leading an innovative ministry that draws on his strengths in preaching, visionary leadership, and strategic communication.

Heckert’s diverse career spans rural, suburban, and urban pulpits, alongside a tenure as the Director of Communications for the General Board of Global Ministries of the UMC. As a musician, composer, and photographer, he has engaged in ministry across five continents through training, workshops, publications, and media creations. He is the co-author of Calling on Fire: Reclaiming the Method of Methodism and the co-editor of For Everyone Born: Global Songs for the Emerging Church.

 

Driven by a commitment to promote a renewed Methodist movement within the church, Heckert is the founder and president of Two Pews, a consulting venture that trains, equips, and empowers church leaders to incorporate Wesleyan methodology with emerging practices.

Heckert holds a BA in Religious Studies from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, an MA in Corporate Communication from Duquesne University, an M.Div from Drew University, and a D.Min. from Wesley Theological Seminary / Wesley House, Cambridge, UK.
